Restorations / Mercedes estate

Look , Mercedes estate. Manufactured 1986 ,2litre petrol, manual transmission, seven seat version , hydraulic self leveling suspension ,330 000 miles on the clock ,I have just checked on google and the moon is 221 500 miles from earth when its orbit is closest , impressive! it has travelled the equivelent distance to the moon and half way back or if that is to much to get your head round ,the earths circumference is just under 25 000 miles so thats thirteen times round the world . She was stored in a field for the last few years but after replacing some perished fuel hoses she starts and runs fine.The owner is very attached to the car ,his daughter was born in it , I dont know if this was intentional or a case of not getting to the hospital on time but i will find out and let you know because these things are interesting aren't they. He was having trouble finding a restorer prepared to take on the job because "its not a proper classic car" but who is to say what car is worthy of restoration and what is not .So we have collected the car all the way from Bognor regis and now consider ourselves a truly international company .The car has a lot of small rust holes to repair and we hpoe to save all the panels apart from the o/s rear and the drivers door .I have some more pictures to follow shortly and will update the story then ,cheers for now jon
